| dc.description.abstract | A perda dentária provoca mudanças no aparelho estomatognático, sendo a alteração de dimensão vertical de oclusão (DVO) a mais comum. Uma das alternativas para reparar esses prejuízos é com a reabilitação com uso de próteses. O presente relato de caso teve como objetivo abordar a reabilitação oral com uso de próteses fixas sobre dentes e sobre implantes, enfatizando a correta DVO, visando o restabelecimento da estética e função. A paciente possuía duas próteses parciais fixas metalocerâmicas, bilateral em maxila, ausência de estabilidade oclusal, apresentando várias lesões por abfração devido ao trauma oclusal e restaurações mal adaptadas. O planejamento iniciou com a substituição das próteses e instalação de implantes na região edêntula, com confecção de provisórios imediatos, clareamento dentário, restaurações estéticas e eliminação das interferências oclusais. Até a fase de provisórios, os resultados alcançados foram satisfatórios, o equilíbrio oclusal proporcionou para a paciente conforto e melhor qualidade de vida, devolvendo função e estética. Conclui-se que o resultado clínico esperado se espelha em um bom diagnóstico e planejamento, possibilitando previsibilidade e segurança na execução do tratamento. | pt_BR |

| dc.description.abstract1 | Dental loss causes changes in the stomatognathic apparatus, and the alteration in the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) is the most common. One of the alternatives to repair these damages is the rehabilitation with the use of prostheses. The present case report aimed to approach oral rehabilitation with the use of fixed prostheses on teeth and implants, emphasizing the correct VDO, concerning the restoration of aesthetics and function. The patient had two fixed partial metal-ceramic prostheses, bilateral in the maxilla, absence of occlusal stability, several abduction lesions due to occlusal trauma and deficient restorations. The planning began with the replacement of the prostheses and installation of implants in the edentulous region, with preparation of immediate temporary, dental bleaching, aesthetic restorations and elimination of occlusal interferences. Until the interim phase, the results achieved were satisfactory, the occlusal balance provided to the patient comfort and better quality of life, returning function and aesthetics. It is concluded that the expected clinical result is reflected in a good diagnosis and planning, allowing predictability and safety in the execution of the treatment. | pt_BR |
